E.T. Milligan is an accomplished speaker, author, and award-winning poet.
A native of Leesville, Louisiana, he earned a Bachelors' Degree in News-Journalism from Northwestern State University in 1981 while being commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. Due to his outstanding performance as a cadet and a military officer, he was inducted into the Northwestern State University ROTC Demon Regiment Hall of Fame in 2019. Milligan earned a Master's Degree in Administration from Central Michigan University in 1995 while simultaneously graduating from the prestigious U.S. Army Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. Milligan served in various capacities stateside and abroad, before retiring from the military in 2004 at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. After retirement, he continued serving the nation as a Department of Defense contractor and presently as a DOD civilian staff member.

As a published author, Milligan has six books in print, which includes a fiction detective series, a biographical novel promoting organ donor awareness, a young adult fiction promoting self-esteem in adolescents and a book of poetry. He is the recipient of two national poetry awards: the International Pen Award and Poet of Merit and the Editors Preference Award. His inspirational poem “I’ll Never Die’ has been engaged by over 150,000 readers on social media, shared over 11,000 times and translated into 10 languages. His poetry has been published in nine national poetry anthologies.

Milligan is the recipient of numerous recognitions including Who's Who among Students in Colleges and Universities, Outstanding Young Men in America and Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Citizen of the Year. Milligan conducted book signings tours in Germany and the United States. He has also conducted creative writing seminars at various schools and universities.
